Development of Indian provider network for servicing Samsung Korea

Proposed Solution to build Provider Base

The Samsung India operations was asked to identify suitable Indian software companies to work on telecommunications and networking software projects outsourced from Korea. This responsibility was delegated to our founder.

Implementation Steps Followed

We delivered the following results:

  1. Development of project specifications with the relevant groups of Samsung Korea
  2. Identification of Indian companies with strengths in the telecom and networking domains.
  3. Visits to these companies spread all over India, and qualifying partners. One or more groups from Samsung Korea accompanied us during these trips.
  4. Issue of RFPs to qualified companies and selecting the ones that were most suitable for the projects. Involved negotiations with the companies and with Samsung Korea.
  5. Execution of preparatory work for launch of the projects.
  6. Formal project initiation, in accompaniment with a project manager from Samsung Korea.

Within 1 year, 4 major projects exceeding US$1M total revenue was outsourced to Indian companies. Qualified companies also formed an Indian Business Partner network for Samsung which could be utilized for execution of future projects in the telecommunciation and networking arenas.
